Moving Pets In A Car
When you want to move with your pet in a car, you need to prepare for long distance moving with a bit of play and care during the trip. When you are simply traveling with family, it is easy to stop for breaks and food. Pets do not have that luxury, and they often do not know what is going on.
You should keep cats and small dogs in a crate or carrier that will help them remain safe during the drive. You do not want them walking all over the car while you are driving.
You also need to leave your pets some water and a few treats for the trip. You do not want to give them a full meal before getting in the car because they will need to “go potty” soon after you leave. Let them sip some water and have a treat now and then during the drive.
Dogs can be allowed to run and play when you stop along the way, but cats should stay in their carriers because they do not know the local area.
